Silence is the last thing my soul wants to hear from Holy Spirit when I want an answer. He keeps telling me to “be still.” My soul doesn’t enjoy stillness. It’s fonder of doing and going. But here I am… in silence choosing to be still.
I don’t quite understand the point behind the silence and the stillness. I’m looking for solutions and, instead, I hear, “Be still. Stillness is the path forward right now.”
From my soul’s perspective, stillness won’t produce anything. How will stillness get me where I’m going? How will it produce the promises He’s placed in my heart?
But here I am… Choosing stillness.
And while I really don’t enjoy the stillness, it presses me to reminisce on past moments when Holy Spirit has asked the same of me.
In the past, the stillness has been his way of saying, “Still your soul enough so that it can reflect what’s above. What’s above is aiming to make an imprint on what’s below, so still your soul so the reflection can be made. Don’t lean on the choppy waters of fear, doubt, and unbelief. They are only trying to overcrowd the soul and cause confusion in your heart realm. Instead, be still and watch as what’s above imprints itself on what’s below.”
And though it doesn’t seem to solve what my soul sees as a “problem,” choosing to still my soul so that what’s above can imprint itself on what’s below is a worthwhile cause.
Just this morning he said to me, “Amanda, glory is incubated in an environment that is focused on the dimension above. In today’s world, it’s very challenging to focus on what’s above. The way everything is spinning and moving. The endless distractions. You need to continue to focus on the stillness of the moment you are in.
You need to see a glorious reflection of what’s above imprint itself on what’s below so that glory can flow freely out of the higher dimensions and realms and into the lower dimensions and realms.
And I know it doesn’t feel simple right now to lean into this reality, but this is where I have you. Be patient in that. Be patient in all of it.
There is so much power in stillness. The ability to make a decision with wisdom and grace without fumbling all over the place because you’re focused on your soul’s own desires and expectations.
Reflect what’s above through your entire being: spirit, soul, heart, and body. You cannot reflect what’s above through your entire being when your soul is strung out all over the place. Others will see the Kingdom of Heaven firmly planted inside of you because of your stillness. Keep pulling from that place of stillness. It is what will lead you into your next.”
