One of the Greatest Healing Miracles of the 20th Century: 50 Years Later

On August 30, 1975 in Dallas, Texas, one of the greatest healing miracles of the 20^th century was executed. Delores, a 48-year-old woman, was dying minute by minute. Plagued with extremely mind-bending, painful pseudo arthritis for 19 ½ years, her spine was prematurely aged and deteriorating at an alarming rate. In a body cast and neck brace to hold her together, doctors could actually crush her bones in their bare hands. She couldn’t be touched because she was so fragile. In order to kill the pain, she underwent four spinal fusions and two percutaneous cordotomies (where they burn out the nerve centers at the base of the brain to eliminate all sensation).  As a result, she had no feeling on the whole right side of her body and on the left side up to her waist.

In 1975, through a string of God-connected events, Delores found herself at a Kathryn Kuhlman Holy Spirit service. During the service she experienced what doctors can only explain as a miraculous healing. Quite instantly, all of the feeling came back into her body. The open sore on her back disappeared, leaving only a scar. Most importantly her spine regained the absorption and strength it was created to have. Finally, she could bend over and touch her toes after almost a decade and a half of being unable to do that. Stunned and astonished, she ended the night by running up and down the stage where the healing took place in front of several hundred onlookers. My grandmother had encountered the supernatural power of God, and from that day forth her life was transformed.

In an instant she went from death to life. The darkness, disease, and generational iniquity keeping her bound was legitimately consumed and overthrown by the power of light. Transformation became her mode of operation. She was now a new being. Completely disregarding the old mindsets, patterns, and structures that kept her broken spirit, soul, heart, and body caged. She was able to achieve new heights in her thought life. Revelation, wisdom, and insight from the realms and dimensions of heaven flowed into her vessel and caused her to approach life in an expansive, glorious way. The goodness of God was all around her.

By design, Holy Spirit is always in the business of transformation. Powerful transformation. Mind-blowing, life altering transformation. His job is to harness and help distribute the power of Jesus in the heavens and the earth.

Our lives are meant to have extreme, heaven and earth-shaking power. We are designed to plug our human spirit into Holy Spirit and then begin to access the higher realms and dimensions containing power.

We were not designed to be dull, depressed, and hopeless. We are not intended to live in and with sickness, death, and disease. Instead, we are created to come in contact with power and allow it to transform us on every level: spirit, soul, heart and body. We are intended to receive it, contain it, and distribute it to others in need.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve thought deeply about the miracle executed in my grandmother’s life turning fifty years old. I’ve considered it in such a way that’s it’s compelled me to ask myself if I am truly experiencing the height of transformation in my own life. Yes, I’ve walked through multiple seasons of transformation, but I know it’s not the highest height. There is more. There is always more. More expansion. More healing. More freedom. More integration. Greater entail of revelation and wisdom waiting to break loose from heaven, come into my being and transform the way that I think and perceive the world we live in.

In the midst of my searching and asking, I’ve found myself deeply hovering over power. A greater desire for power has gripped my spirit in a way that I do not understand. Honestly, my soul is so weary from the journey I’ve been on with Holy Spirit that it is kind of looking at my spirit right now thinking, “We are asking for more?! We want more? More will cost us.” But then my spirit knows if I just simply press for more, there will be a giant breath of release to receive more.

And for some reason, the more doesn’t feel like it will be a burden. It feels like this power will be a tool that will be wielded to take on more darkness and see that it is overthrown so that more of the heavens and the earth can receive the healing and freedom that they need.

I actually believe a greater release is what we all need. It’s what we all should be asking for and expectant of. A vulnerable statement that says, “Holy Spirit, I need more transformation in my life. Transformation that contains so much power that I become a new being in places where I lack. In areas where I am deficient and hurting. I need you to breathe power on the depths of me that have pain and long suffering. The ones where the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual pain is so deep that I cannot see a way out of this. Bring your power to those places. The places where financial strain finally bows its head. Provide hope achieved in all areas inside of me.”  

So, whatever area you need transformation in life, I expect you will receive it.
